School-Age Care

Our Staff
As part of our commitment to nurturing and high-quality childcare, we make sure that all of our staff are equipped with the best training and experiences. Our staff are constantly improving our program and staying up-to-date with innovations in education. Additionally, our staff demonstrate care and respect for children, an ability to relate well to children, sound judgment, dependability, and cooperation with others. In order to keep students safe and engaged, Friendship Connection guarantees a minimum of one staff member per 12 children for grades K-8.

Locations & Transportation
Friendship Connection is offered at all Roseville Area Schools! Children enrolling for the school year program must register for the Friendship Connection site at the school they attend. Parents are responsible for their child’s transportation to and from Friendship Connection.

Pre-K Students
4- and 5-year-old students attending the full-day Pre-K programs at Harambee and Parkview schools will have the option of registering for Friendship Connection at these sites. These students must be 4 by September 1 of the school year they are registering for. Please confirm your registration with Pre-K before submitting your contract.

Summer Care
We offer care for most of the summer! All Friendship Connection sites are closed for two weeks at the end of summer. During that time, families will need to make other childcare arrangements.

Fee Assistance
If you need fee assistance, contact the county you live in to see if you qualify for county assistance. If you do not qualify but need financial assistance, limited scholarships may be available - contact our main office at 651-604-3505.

Meals
Breakfast and snack are provided on Non-School Days. Lunch is provided as well unless otherwise noted by your Site Coordinator, but you may still choose to send a lunch with your child. We encourage you to send them with food you know they will eat.

Locations
Students from multiple schools sometimes combine at one site for Non-School Days. Please note which school location each date is held at.

Register by the 15th!
Registration is required in order for your student to attend Non-School Days. The registration deadline for Non-School Days in on the 15th of the month prior to the date that you would like your student to attend. For example, if you want your student to join us on November 4, you must register them by October 15 at the latest.

Fees
The fee for Non-School Days is $48 per day, per child. Tuition will be included in your monthly billing. 

Late Registrations
If you miss the registration deadline, we can only take children on a space-available basis. Please check with your Site Coordinator. Registrations approved after the deadline will be charged a $10.00 per Non-School Day, per child late registration fee. See the Family Handbook as additional charges may apply.

Changes & Cancellations
Cancellations before the deadline can be made in your account. No changes or cancellations will be accepted after the 15th of the current month. Find "Current and Upcoming Contracts" and then click on your child’s contract. Then under "Non-School Days" click the red "Remove" button next to the day(s) you need to cancel.

If your child needs to take prescription or over-the-counter medication, you must fill out and submit a Dispensation of Medication form. This form authorizes Roseville Area Schools staff to give the medication.

Follow these steps to create and manage your online Friendship Connection account.

If you are unable to register online or do not have access to a smartphone or computer, we can help. Please contact your Out of School Time Site Coordinator or call the main Friendship Connection office at 651-604-3505.

1) Create Account, Sign In, Account Basics

If you have ever registered for Roseville Community Education programs (enrichment classes, camps, Friendship Connection, aquatics, Pre-K, ECFE), you already have an account in our online system under your email address. Don't create a duplicate account!

If you are completely new to Roseville Community Education, follow the steps below to create your account and get started. Click on any link below for helpful how-to articles.

2) Enrolling  & Choosing Initial Schedule

If you are new to Friendship Connection, you'll need to enroll your child(ren). During enrollment, you'll choose their site location and their child care schedule. You'll also be asked to list 3 emergency contacts, and list all adults who you're authorizing to pick up your child(ren). Click on any link below for helpful how-to articles.

3) Payments, Invoices, Tax Statements

Child care payments are due by the 15th of each month. Tax statements become available after January 1st of each year. Credit cards are charged additional fees when used for payment - we recommend using a checking account, savings account, or debit card for payment! Click on any link below for helpful how-to articles.

4) Schedule Changes, Non-School Days, Withdrawals

Contract changes are due by the 15th of the month and take effect the 1st of the following month. The registration deadline for Non-School Days in on the 15th of the month prior to the date that you would like your student to attend. For example, if you want your student to join us on November 4, you must register them by October 15 at the latest.

Please note that registrations take time to process, and your site may be on a waitlist due to staffing. You may submit your registration and we will contact you with the potential start date (if staffing is available) or an update regarding the site you are enrolled at.
