Targeted Services (Summer Discovery, Kaleidoscope)

Licensed Teachers & Small Class Sizes
Our Targeted Services opportunities are taught by licensed teachers who work closely with students to help meet individual students' needs in math and reading, preparing them for success during the school day. Targeted Services classes are engaging and comfortable environments for learning. There are typically no more than 15 students per teacher.

Math & Reading Focus
Targeted Services instruction focuses mainly on math and reading. We know it is critical to also provide students with a well-rounded education, so students in Targeted Services also participate in various enrichment activities.

No Cost to Families
These classes are free for qualifying students to attend!

Qualifying students are invited to attend before- or after-school classes during the school year, such as the Targeted Services theater classes that build literacy skills!

Targeted Services classes run at different schools throughout the year.

Breakfast is provided for before-school classes, an afternoon snack for after-school classes.

Qualifying students are invited to attend classes during our 5-week summer program!

Summer Discovery is a purposefully designed summer program that helps build academic skills in fun and interesting ways. Its purpose is to keep students engaged and learning over the summer so they are ready for successful school year in the fall. Students have smaller class sizes, work in groups and dive into thematic learning while practicing English Language Arts and Mathematics.

Summer Discovery is only available to students who have been invited. Bus transportation is available, and breakfast and lunch are provided for students each day during this summer program!

Dates for Summer 2025:

Monday - Thursday, June 23 - July 24
(No classes on Fridays)

Qualifying students at Harambee are invited to attend Kaleidoscope, a Targeted Services program that runs during Harambee intersessions!
